The premier end-of-summer season QuadClub picnic of north sound kayaking clubs is scheduled for Saturday, September 30 at Washington Park in Anacortes. All members of WAKE (Whatcom Association of Kayak Enthusiasts), HITW (Hole in the Wall Paddling Club), NSSKA (North Sound Sea Kayaking Association), and EMSK (Everett Mountaineers Sea Kayakers) are invited to this year's QuadClub picnic. This year's picnic is hosted by NSSKA.
The paddling trips will start around 10:00 am and finish by 2:00 pm so everyone will be back in time for the festivities. If you are interested in leading a paddle, please contact your club president. We hope to have 2-4 trips so everyone who wants to paddle before the picnic has the opportunity. Trips will be posted for registration before the event with safety gear and necessary paddler skills the same as our normal day trips.
The potluck picnic will start at 2:00 pm in the Washington Park group day use area (next to the boat ramp). Parking is limited at Washington Park so please carpool if you can. Please bring your own chairs, utensils, and a dish to share. We will also have a raffle and gear sale/swap so feel free to bring all the stuff you no longer need to sell and trade with others. We suggest labeling gear with price and your name. There can also be a “free” pile.
This event is always a lot of fun as we get to meet new paddling friends and reconnect with friends we have not seen in awhile. We sincerely hope you can make it! Friends and family welcome.
