Nigel Foster is a world famous instructor and author. Nigel is great at working with paddlers at different levels in the same group. He describes this class as:
Finesse your Stroke… focus on the energy-saving aspects of fine control, for maneuvering and for forward stroke.
Kayak control for the wind: ways to control your kayak in wind with the minimum effort for maximum effect: let the wind help you.
Blending Strokes. You have a range of basic skills to control your kayak? Now link the appropriate parts of different strokes to make seamless maneuvers.
Forward Stroke: Maximum effect for minimum effort… extend your paddling range and increase your speed.
This class will have two separate days - take either one or both!

NOTE: Several paddlers in the Saturday class can easily move to Sunday. If you want to take the Saturday class, contact George Biehl gbiehl77@gmail.com

On Sunday, October 24th, Deception Pass has a moderate ebb - 4.9kts max at 10:06 AM. You'll need to get up with the chickens to launch at 8:30AM. Participants must have the usual club gear, be eager to get wet, and willing to demonstrate a competent assisted rescue as both the rescuer and the person being rescued immediately after we launch. A mix of new and experienced paddlers is required.
OUR MISSION
To encourage safe kayaking, stress the importance of training in kayaking skills and safety, protect the environment and have fun.
