Skagit Island Stewardship Trip (SneeOosh)
A nice fall day paddle to Skagit Island.
We will leave SneeOosh Beach and ride the current around Hope Island to Skagit Island where we will check out the Washington Water Trails Association camp site.
Arrive at 10:30 am at SneeOosh Beach and plan to launch at 11:00 am. The paddle will be less than an hour to reach Skagit Island. We will have the opportunity to take a walk around the island, assessing any work needed. If we find thistle along the way, we will work to remove it. Following our trail work, we will find a nice place to have lunch. We will finish walking the trail around the island, looking for future stewardship opportunities before heading back to the beach to paddle to our launch point.
Bring a garden knife or dandelion weeder or something similar, sturdy gloves and a stiff plastic bag to put any thistles we come across into.
