ROUTE: First route is to circumnavigate counter clock Jack Island Preserve, then cross to Vendovi Island. Paddle counter clock to the Vendovi dock on the North side of the Island. Reminder that we need to sign in before exploring the island. We will have time to have our lunch and hike the trails to explore the island before heading back to Young's County Park. RETURN TIME: Lunch around noon. Hike around the island and begin return to Guemes from Vendovi beach around 1:30 pm. Return to Anacortes is estimated around 4 to 4:30 p.m.

SKILL LEVEL RATING: SKIII
REQUIRED GEAR/PAPERWORK: HITW trips require: a 14’ or larger kayak with bulkheads, PFD, and dry suit recommended and at very least wetsuit top and bottom. Recommended: Deck Compass if fog encountered.
LOGISTICAL TRIP COSTS: Guemes terminal, and kayak/person fare, funds for possible restaurant dinner in Anacortes. The fare could be shared between 2 people; for car & driver is $21.00 (senior $17.00) and for passenger is $6.75 (senior $4.00). Parking at the Ferry Parking and Young’s Park is free.
FOOD PROTECTION AND POTABLE WATER AVAILABILITY: Bring adequate water and food for self, and extra dry clothes, sunscreen, chart.
CHALLENGING CONDITIONS: NOTE ALL POSSIBILITIES: Boat traffic, currents, possible winds, fog , will cancel if forecasted too windy.
