TRI-CLUB PICNIC

The Hole in the Wall Paddling Club is hosting this year’s Tri-Club picnic at Bowman Bay on Sunday, September 14. All members of NSSKA, WAKE, HITW and their families are invited. There will be several paddles taking place in the morning - Deception Pass, Biz Point and Deception Island, all weather dependent. Slack before ebb is at approximately 10:30 am so interested paddlers will need to be ready to launch by 9:15AM. More details on each paddle and sign ups will be available by the end of the month.
We’ve reserved Shelter #4, the same one as last year. It can be accessed by a footpath from the parking lot or by vehicle. There is a separate parking area. Lunch will start around 1:00 or when everyone returns from paddling. It’s a potluck so please bring a food item to share. Tap and sparkling water will be available. Bring your own place setting (plate, glass, silverware) and camp chair. There are also several picnic tables on site.
There will be a raffle of kayak-related goodies for club members after lunch. Anyone who contributes additional raffle items (any new or very lightly used item of gear with a value of $10 and up that you think people might be pleased to receive as a raffle prize) will automatically get an extra raffle ticket or tickets in return for the items they contribute.
A gear swap will also be part of the day’s events. Please bring any camping/kayak gear you’d like to sell/swap/give away. Label items with a price and your name. There will be designated tarps/tables to set your gear at the shelter. A HITW member will be on hand to watch over stuff when folks are out paddling. Don’t forget your Discover Pass!
