ROUTE: Launch from Bowman Bay, Deception Pass State Park, beach near public parking lot, and kayak north, handrailing along the shore and cliffs to and around Biz point, stopping for lunch, and dependent on group choice, we can explore around Deception Island and Bowman Bay before landing for the day.
WHAT IS AWESOME: There may be otters playing along the shore. The shoreline, cliffs and small caves are fun to meander by and explore. The lower tide height for this day will be favorable in a beautiful area.
DISTANCE: 6-7 NM maximum

SKILL LEVEL RATING: SKI , SKII (weather/calm winds)
REQUIRED GEAR/PAPERWORK: HITW trips require: a 14’ or larger kayak with bulkheads, PFD, and dry suit recommended and at very least wetsuit top and bottom.
LOGISTICAL TRIP COSTS: Discover Pass required for state park
FOOD PROTECTION AND POTABLE WATER AVAILABILITY: Bring adequate water and food for self, and extra warm clothes, thermos of hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate recommended this time of the year.
CHALLENGING CONDITIONS: NOTE ALL POSSIBILITIES: Limited landing sites, but very manageable, for the short length of the trip. Will cancel if too windy.
