Forward Stroke for Efficiency with Nigel Foster
About this event
So much of our kayaking time is spent using a forward stroke, but do we get the best return for our effort? Are there parts of our stroke where we can save energy? How can our paddle get the best grip in the water? Which muscle groups should we use? This class draws attention to the many details that can make a significant difference to your performance. The goal is to gain more power, using less effort.
If any problems with the waitlist or other, please email Teresa Flodin: TAF.Seakayaker@gmail.com if you want to be on the wait list. We did add a 2nd weekend of same Nigel Foster classes May 6/7, but only a few spots left in each.
The fee is $150 per student for members and $155 for non-members if the class fills to 10 students. An additional $10 per student will be collected by HITW Club at the time of class if it fills to less than 10 students. A Discover Pass is required at Bowman Bay for parking. Be sure to acquire and to display your pass properly to avoid fees.
Students are expected to be ready for the water before the class meets for an on-land introduction at 10 am. A morning session afloat, we stop for a break at lunchtime, with short theory session before the afternoon afloat, ending at 4pm.
